24.12.2010-6.1.2011 (Thu-Sat) Christmas has come somewhat into the background as our thoughts were entirely with Maxi. She had blood in her chair again and its kind of worm. The obligatory potato salad on Christmas Eve have been replaced by chili Concarne :) A few days later were still 8 plates with normal Cookies into the oven. Maxi it was getting a bit better, at least, was nothing more to see a worm, but the diarrhea stopped, her apathetic actions and absence of thirst and hunger. Every time Max was on the way out, grabbed one of us looked like a flashlight and ran, like a spy, to look behind her to her how her chair. As positive side: the old Maxi is back and has its hunger / appetite again :) Over the next few days killed another 5 fish, however, are 4 new "babies" have been added. But the worst was on the day of arrival of Yel & Cam - "Osama and his assistant" died
(just the name: up to 3 months ago there were only 2 Fische –einen großen und einen mittleren; der Große versuchten den anderen immer zu attackieren-> also versteckte sich dieser in einer kleinen Höhle, so wie Osama; als der große Fisch starb wurde ein paar neue Fische gekauft und u.a. einen von der gleichen Art wie Osama; am Ende wurde noch eine extra Höhle gebaut für „Osamas Helfer“).
Da es wir uns jetzt keine Sorgen mehr um die Hundedame machen mussten und Yel&Cam wieder da waren ging es auf in die Innenstadt von Brisbane. Es war erschreckend zu sehen das Wege am Fluss, über welche man noch vor 3 Monaten in aller Ruhe spazieren konnte jetzt durch die Flut nicht mehr zu sehen sind. Wie ihr ja wahrscheinlich in den Nachrichten gehört habt sind hier in Queensland gerade die schlimmsten Regenfälle seit bestehen des Landes. Alleine in Queensland sind über 60 des Bundesstaates überflutet. Für alle die keine Vorstellung haben wie groß das ist: Wenn man die Landesfläche von Deutschland, Dänemark und Frankreich zusammen rechnet, dann ist diese immer noch geringer als die Fläche der überfluteten Gebiete alleine in hier in Queensland. Teilweise sind die Flüsse hier 16 Meter über dem normalen Pegel (das ist zum Vergleich in etwa 7 - geschossiges Hochhaus). Aber das ist nur QLD, die Flut betrifft auch noch 2-3 weitere Bundesstaaten. Wir in unserem House are not affected, but you do not travel far to see everything.
Yesterday, we "Schulzi" brought front man "and wrote a couple of ads for the sale, let's hope we are lucky. Wish us luck ... :)
