21.-23.01.2011 These days, nothing great was announced, we have helped in the garden and in the home and have been much out there with the dogs.

01/24/2011 Here it was at 33 degrees to the Redcliff (about 45 in north of Warner) for swimming. There were too treckig by the high waters of the ocean and the beach we had only a man-made lagoon. The water was too warm, but still it was very nice to switch off and relax.

25/01/2011 To us Yel & cam for the help with the car, thanks to free accommodation etc. It was the typical Australian Seafoodessen, in the vicinity of Redcliff, on the beach (of course Max and Romeo could not miss it). In order to adapt and correct, we had claws, all kinds of fish, squid and, for the first time, cancer. This cancer was not ready, so that you had to eat only the meat - no we had to only the tank, the legs, break the Scherrer etc ... All in all a great day at the beach at 33 degrees, super food and great people.

 

 

26.1.2011 Fuer alle die es nicht wissen dies ist Australia Day, der Tag an dem sich Australien selbt feiert. Es ist ganz schoen anzusehen das fast alle Haushalte eine Fahne draussen haben oder ihre Autos schmuecken. Fuer uns ging es zu Campbells Geschaeftspartner Graham zu einem klassischen BBQ. Standesgemaess fuhren dann auch mit dem Mercedes und 2 Australienfahnen vorne  wie Staatsoberhaeupte vor:)   Das Essen war super, aber was noch viel genialer war, war die Tatsache das wir am Australia Day mit „echten Australier“ ein BBQ hatten. The "i point" than we had seen the evening still a Wallabies (small dwarf / Bergkaenguru) ... simply fantastic.

27.-29.01.2011 These days we have spent to calculate what we do to Western Australia? Actually, our plan to Great Kepple Iceland was to drive (this is the small Robinson Crusoe island, without running water, electricity, etc.), but by the flooding, the water is very dirty, many corals have been through the sorbent many freshwater ... so no good conditions. From 'The information contained is why we have canceled this Tripp. But do what now? We were thinking more like NZ to fly - but is just as high season and prices are abnormal. Another consideration It was already rather fliiegen home - but that all flights would Umbuchgen us come more expensive. Now we have for 14 days, a Jucy camper (that's the same gift green camper we had in NZ) hired in Brisbane and make the East Coast uncertain.

30/01/2011 We are now waiting for our tickets we get 20:15 and then arrive safely after 5 ½ hours in Perth. Thank God the cyclone warning was lifted for Perth just for that are next week 2 of this species in North Queensland ... so hoffenltich did everything right:)

Hello my friends! ; Saturday 22.Jänner, 22:17 clock

And again I hang back to register with, it was a lot going on in the meantime!

First, starting with the Christmas Eve here, 24 December. I spent it with my sisters and my mother (the father and brother were at Grandma) in the house of the neighbors. It was actually an ordinary evening, we sat and ate (traditional suckling pig) and then we have spoken, but it went off without any mess or anything other, it was an evening like any other. But it was also the case that the Christmas spirit has ever been missing, and the war auch der Hauptgrund, warum ich am 24.ten Heimweh hatte. Man fängt halt an zu denken, wie es sonst daheim immer so ist, und dass dann die Familie sich zusammen setzt und gemeinsam feiert.... Und dann gabs auch noch eine Überraschung, meine Eltern hatten endlich eine Webcam, und es war das erste Mal nach all der Zeit, dass ich sie über Skype sehen konnte.

Das war der 24., der 31. Dezember war nicht ganz so anders. Es fing damit an, dass wir zum Monumento fuhren, dort Yaroa aßen (ganz typisch für Santiago, war das erste mal) und anschließend wieder zu den Nachbarn gingen, dort ein wenig plauderten, und irgendwann meinte der Nachbar mal:„ Ah, jetzt ist das neue Jahr endlich da!“, worauf sich all hugged and wished a good year and then re-played dominoes. And at the end of the Christmas holidays, from 8 to 11 then we were finally successful in the Pico Duarte. Before us were two German who arrived about 15 minutes to go. But it was better to run because the ground was earthy, it stirs a bit, and then out of the ground was muddy, where you slipped. So until we were down, my white shoes absolutely not recognize, and the earth was not even with soap down completely. And my feet have suffered a little, fat blister on the toes, right and left. But I was on the highest mountain in the Caribbean (3,087 meters) and have some good memories!

Well, this weekend it was then relax in an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Plata announced on the beach with the family. It was only one night, but it was heavenly! (Yes, sunburn I got old, and a friend just said this: ... and in January, long live the Dominican Republic where she is right, she's right (;)

And this weekend.. is long weekend, on Friday the day of Our Lady of Altagracia and Juan Pablo Duarte on Wednesday day, which was moved to Monday, so 4 days off! ; D We are currently at my father's mother in a village called Loma de Cabrera, and the days since Fiesta around the Clock. Yes, the Dominican clearly know how to party! (: And then there was also my birthday on the 20th, which has already started so nice in the morning they sang me Happy Brithday and I get presents, the day went on to say that countless people in the school wished all the best have, and on Facebook before I felt stupid, across all comment with "thanks". But was really nice.

7.1.-01.20.2011 All the last 2 weeks, everything just turned the tide. Everywhere we saw the television footage of the creeks to huge 8m high "Inlandtzunami's" are entrainment and trees, cars and houses like straws. The worst was all this water was then on his way to Brisbane. To us all we had to prepare food, DVD's and of course covered with alcohol :) . Thank God it was in the end not as bad as expected (here in Brisbane). We're a little to the north and had no serious problems in our city. But in our neighboring towns, roads and bridges were flooded. What one really scared but doing is the fact that the Brisbanestaudamm at 195% water and the capacity was at 198% all the locks were opened. Thus Brisbane would therefore almost been razed to the ground. Now one could say: "They could have been before can drain water," unfortunately, the government zu lange damit gewartet und am Ende ist in der gleichen Zeit mehr Wasser in den Damm gelaufen als abgelassen wurde. Hin oder her, wir sind heil auf und haben jetzt dafür schönes Wetter.

Ansonsten wenn wir nicht mit der Flut beschäftigt waren hatten wir uns darum gekümmert unseren „Schulzi“ zu verkaufen. Leider war dies (und ist noch immer) nicht der richtige Zeitpunkt für einen Verkauf, da die Menschen gerade andere Dinge um die Ohren haben. Man kann sich nicht vorstellen wie viele Idioten einen anschreiben und denken das man so doof ist und jemanden einfach 1.200$ zuüberweisen damit dieser seinen „Abholagent“ bezahlen kann um mir später 10.900$ zu überweisen. Vier verschiedene Idiots had to respond to our ads (even a double). Eventually we found our car mechanic after only 1 day a buyer. Unfortunately there was not the expected wealth of the sale, but we are still happy. We had "Schulzi" bought for $ 6500 and had invested with the review and insurance again about $ 500. Now we have received $ 7,280 and are thus at about + / - zero (only our camping gear we need to sell yet). From this money we have our flight to Perth, which really only at 15.2. should go to 30.1. forward. What will we do during the time in Queensland - where the majority of roads in the Tourist centers are destroyed or blocked and no longer exist for tents?

got better as the weather went there to swim with the dogs after Mooloolabe (about 1 hour north of Brisbane). Unfortunately, the water was here from the flood as dirty as the Parthenon in Leipzig. On the beach you could see even intestines, which turned out to be as sea cucumbers (after about 40 people are still missing and the thought that one finds a "part" of the body is not as far-fetched). Nach den letzten Wochen/Monaten mit Regen ist nun auch Brisbane ein Krisengebiet. Teile der Stad wurden schon evakuiert, unser Nachbarort in which we shop is always closed off completely. And the worst is yet to come! The places in the north of Brisbane was run over by 8m high "domestic Tzunamis"! Thank God we are here on one of the highest points and have yet stocked with DVD's food and wine. On the way back from the store 10 minutes after us were blocked the roads and bridges. Recent updates coming .... you get the old earwig in my ear: When will the flood, when comes the flood ....

24.12.2010-6.1.2011 (Thu-Sat) Christmas has come somewhat into the background as our thoughts were entirely with Maxi. She had blood in her chair again and its kind of worm. Da es wir uns jetzt keine Sorgen mehr um die Hundedame machen mussten und Yel&Cam wieder da waren ging es auf in die Innenstadt von Brisbane. Es war erschreckend zu sehen das Wege am Fluss, über welche man noch vor 3 Monaten in aller Ruhe spazieren konnte jetzt durch die Flut nicht mehr zu sehen sind. Wie ihr ja wahrscheinlich in den Nachrichten gehört habt sind hier in Queensland gerade die schlimmsten Regenfälle seit bestehen des Landes.  Alleine in Queensland sind über 60 des Bundesstaates überflutet. Für alle die keine Vorstellung haben wie groß das ist: Wenn man die Landesfläche von Deutschland, Dänemark und Frankreich zusammen rechnet, dann ist diese immer noch geringer als die Fläche der überfluteten Gebiete alleine in hier in Queensland. Teilweise sind die Flüsse hier 16  Meter über dem normalen Pegel (das ist zum Vergleich in etwa 7 - geschossiges Hochhaus). Aber das ist nur QLD, die Flut betrifft auch noch 2-3 weitere Bundesstaaten. Wir in unserem House are not affected, but you do not travel far to see everything.

Yesterday, we "Schulzi" brought front man "and wrote a couple of ads for the sale, let's hope we are lucky. Wish us luck ... :)
