Hello my friends! Saturday 31. Jul. 2010, 5:34 local time went
Yesterday `s really going on: first from the hotel in Munich at 06:45 to the airport, then check in the luggage (the weight was on the border [:) and finally a tearful Farewell to the parents. There I met at the airport AFS Germany, with whom I flew to Madrid. There we had to wait about 2 ½ hours and met, among other things, the "AFSL" Italy. In Madrid we had difficulties at first, terminal and gate to look for, where our plane took off, we were left to ourselves. But it was a pretty large group and we found at the end, even at the right point of departure.
Finally, we flew (an hour late, I slept a single hour of the day) to Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. On the flight there `s nothing to say except that I was sitting next to a lady who toppled during the flight time countless bottles of red wine and, accordingly, a flag hatte.
However, I must say, if the heat would be this high humidity would actually be quite nice. You feel right somehow, the air around you.
But now on to the bus: He looked so small that we all thought we would fit them all into it. And the trailer for our luggage was really too small, so we had half a suitcase still inside front. It was surprising that the cooling system worked really perfect. From the outside it looked practically like as if we would put in a grill.
Um to travel to the Dominican Republic by car, you have to, I believe, be brought up here. Few have seat belts, how many people sit in a car is actually not so tragic, and not think 'yes, if your light is green you can not go look. The heat that is with a "monkey-tempo" in red by what usually leads to a large "Huperei. Also, that the people at the turn half hanging out the window, or the bus with open doors, is quite normal here! So, sometimes you wonder, why do not already happen in heaps at every crossing accidents. Speaking of injuries: It is also not a man, where rescue or so must pass. No, who has to do quite normal as everyone else behind!
But now on to my coach: Then, after about 2 ½ hours we were finally arrived and were met by our host families and Lumi. I went to the Welcome to Jimmy and his cousin to my new home for a year and was received warmly by my host mother. Then I was shown my room. (Jimmy has painted with a girlfriend two posters, one of which hang on my door and I found it really very nice!) And then I hurried to get only more, go to bed. I was so tired that I as soon as possible Time simply eyes closed. Although I woke up again and again, because I was so too warm, but otherwise I slept soundly.
Well, now it's half past seven in the morning and I just noticed that there is already light outside. (Another phenomenon: the dawn is really very short, it is an 8 clock in the evening already pitch dark, but it will be just another thing to which I must get used ...)
Well, I will now to stop I think you have enough experience from my first day.
So, greetings
Hanna
